Summer hair styles may be varied, but one thing they all share is a bold attitude. From messy buns to loose, voluminous waves, this summer is all about feeling cool and confident. And that includes the straight and sleek bombshell.
So ladies, get ready to pull out your straighteners, because super straight locks are back. Lacoste, Derek Lam and Emilio Pucci were just some of the many designers rocking this bold, sexy look. Best part is, it’s easy to achieve.
Customize the look and add interest by tying some strands back, away from the face, like at Emilio Pucci, where strands are twisted and secured at the back with a bobby pin.
For a chic, streetstyle look, create a deep side part and tuck some hair behind your ear, like the one seen at Lacoste.
Want something even bolder? Wear an edgy centre part and slick the front sections of your hair back behind your ears, leaving some strands loose, like this futuristic look at Mario Schwab.
You can also add some accessories to create a modern look, like this clean, minimalist style seen at Michael Kors.
Tip: When it comes to straight and sleek, shine is key! Don’t forget to add a little bit of shine polish when you’re finished styling your hair, for shiny, sexy locks. Here’s how to get this look.
Super Straight Locks
Step 1: Clip your freshly cleaned hair in even sections (half an inch to two inches thick). The thicker your hair is the more sections you should create. Start straightening on your bottom strands near the nape of your neck. Start half an inch down from your roots. This will help you maintain some natural volume yet you’ll still have that super straight and sleek appeal.
Step 2: The crown of your head should be the final strands. Lift hair off your scalp and try to get your straightening iron as close to your roots as possible to achieve a smooth, flat finish.
Step 3: Finish with some shine spray. Try Bumble and bumble Let it Shine on (and on…) Finishing Spray.
Remember: You can also use accessories such as the minimalist hairband, or try a deep side part, pin it back or tuck it behind the ears to dress up the look.
